Over 1 billion (with a b!) metric tonnes of food is wasted every year and a lot of that ends up in landfills. It’s terribly wasteful, but it’s also terrible for the environment – 8% of greenhouse gas emissions come from food waste. But composting can help make a big difference. These compostable bags make it easier to keep food waste out of landfills, allowing it to break down and turn back into useful organic matter. Amazing!

We believe making better choices for Mama Earth shouldn’t be a burden, so we made sure these bags come with no compromises. They’re sturdy, strong and easy to use. We’ve done multiple rounds of testing so they can stand up to the challenge of a small commune’s worth of food waste.

While many Canadian municipalities have green bin or organics collection programs, not all of them accept certified compostable plastics, including food scrap bags. Some facilities are equipped to process them, while others are not. Always check with your local facility before disposing of your food scrap bag in your green bin.
